2 day tour - staying 1 night at William Creek Hotel (in cabins) and including a 1 hour scenic flight over Lake Eyre


This Lake Eyre (Kati Thanda) & Oodnadatta Track tour runs for 2 days - a great way to visit the iconic Lake Eyre and the William Creek Hotel as well as the famous outback Oodnadatta Track - full of history and great stories - but without risking your vehicle on all those dirt roads!

Day ONE: Departing from Central Flinders at 8.00am we travel to Blinman and through the Parachilna Gorge then to Lyndhurst to view the stunning colourful Ochre Cliffs.  Next stop is Farina - old Ghan Railway town that is now a ghost town full of history and mystery.  Next it's on to Marree for morning tea stop.  From Marree we hit the dirt roads as we indulge in the magic of the Oodnadatta Track - calling in to Lake Eyre South viewing point - then continue express to William Creek for lunch.  After lunch we head out on the station tracks of Anna Creek Station (the largest cattle station in the world) and arrive at Halligan Bay where we can view and walk on the surface or Lake Eyre North.  Then it’s back to William Creek for dinner in the iconic Hotel and overnight stay in motel style ensuite accommodation.


Day TWO: Begin with an unforgettable early 60 min scenic flight over Lake Eyre North - don’t forget the camera!  Then its back to the William Creek Hotel for breakfast before we hit the road and make our homeward journey along the Oodnadatta Track - this time we call into the Beresford Railway Siding and then historic site of the  Strangways Telegraph Station.  Next we call in to Coward Springs as well as the fascinating Bubbler and Mound Springs  - and the trip along the Oodnadatta Track would not be complete without a stop at the Alberrie Creek - Mutonia Sculpture Park.  We call into the town of Marree for lunch and then visit the township of Leigh Creek - former mining town - and the beautiful Aroona Dam before making our way back to your drop off location.

”Arkaroola & Wilpena” 2 day tour - staying 1 night at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary


This Arkaroola tour runs for 2 days - a great way to visit Arkaroola while you are in the Flinders Region - and experience the world famous Ridgetop Tour - but without risking you vehicle on all those dirt roads!


Highlights:


 


Day ONE: Depart 8.00am. We firstly travel through the heart of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park via Bunyeroo Valley & Gorge, then follow Aroona Valley to the spectacular Brachina Gorge and have time to observe the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby, we continue north to the picturesque Parachilna Gorge & on to the historic copper mining town of Blinman for lunch.

With abundance of wildlife in the area there is a good chance you could see Kangaroos, Euros (Wallaroos), Emus, Parrots and the graceful Wedge Tailed Eagle.

After lunch we travel across this 600m high plateau to the eastern side of the Flinders Ranges across remote sheep station properties before we stop for a 4WD trek into Chambers Gorge, with a short walk to view the gallery of ancient Aboriginal Rock Engravings. Continue on into the Gammon Ranges National Park and the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary Resort. Founded by Reg & Griselda Sprigg now operated by their son Douglas and Vicki. Check into your Mawson Room, dinner at the Native Pine Restaurant.


Day TWO: Early breakfast before joining the exclusive, world famous, Arkaroola Ridge Top Tour, (Departs reception at 8.00am) travel the rocky roads in customised 4wd vehicles, through creeks, valleys & over the ridges of the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, climaxing with an amazing view and some lovely morning tea.


After lunch, return express via Copley and Leigh Creek,  before making our way back to your drop off location. Arriving back at approx. 5.30pm
