This Flinders Ranges Day tour runs for approximately 8 hours (depending on the pick up location)

This tour begins with the Bunyeroo Gorge Scenic Drive with beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife - a stunning track in the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park that never fails to impress. Next we join into the Brachina Gorge Geological Trail and keep our eye out for the illusive Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby - once abundant in numbers but now quite rare. We also marvel at the ancient geology on display dating back over 640 million years - and learn about how the Flinders Ranges were formed and the significance of the geology on display in the region. Next we travel up the western side of the Heysen Range until we reach the Parachilna Gorge where we once again hit the dirt roads and marvel at the impressive ranges before arriving at the historic copper mining town of Blinman for a lunch stop in the local bakery.
After lunch we visit Wadna - (aboriginal artefacts and art shop) - and then start our track southwards past the Great Wall of China before we visit the eastern end of the Brachina Geological Trail and view the Golden Spike - a Global Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) marking the base of the Ediacaran Period. Then it is on to visit the historic Appealinna Station to see the ruins (1856) from a troubled bygone era - a neighbour dispute to rival the ages that resulted in a prison term! Walk the short trail and hear the intriguing tale and marvel at the ruins of miners houses from the unsuccessful Appealinna copper mine and maybe we will be lucky enough to see a shy redthroat bird!
And of course, no tour would be complete without a visit to the awesome Stokes Hill Lookout.
