We indulging in the beauty of the Moralana Scenic Drive as we cross 2 private properties and see spectacular views of the Elder Range and the southern rampart of Wilpena Pound. Travel the western side of Wilpena on the Outback Highway before entering the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park which offers an abundance of arid land plants and the local wildlife - we always make time to search for the rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.
We look at the amazing ancient geological rock formations of the Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, where we find rock formations up to 640 million years old as well as the ancient marine fossils of the Archaeocyatha - 530 million years old. And we will tell you how it all came to be…
The scenery is stunning and diverse – from deep inside the gorges to the open expansive views from the Razorbacks Lookout.
During spring there are wild flowers in bloom and there is always a high possibility of seeing kangaroos, emu’s and wedge tailed eagles (and many other species) in their natural environment.
But wait.... there’s more!!
On this tour we also see some of Hans Heysen’s (artist) favourite places, and we call into Stokes Hill Lookout to enjoy the magical view from this special location.
